Let’s Talk Tribe Podcast Ep. 55: A Carlos Santana Christmas

Carlos Santana is one of the hardest-hitting players in baseball, but will he get an extension? Will the Indians sign Edwin Encarnacion? Does it really even matter anymore?

♪ It's beginning to loook a lot like dead baseball season. Eeeeverywhere I go. ♪

Yes, it's true. Nothing is happening right now. At least, baseball teams that matter aren't doing anything, but there are still plenty of interesting people talking about baseball. Jason and I examine a few of those topics, such as Carlos Santana's tendency to murder baseballs and the full Indians ZiPS projections from Dan Szymborski. Jesus Aguilar gets a full win. A full win! We also give our thoughts on the upcoming Hall of Fame ballot and wonder if anyone really cares about Edwin Encarnacion anymore. Probably, but I'm already sick of talking about him.

With the recent launch of the Let's Go Tribe Twitch channel, it seemed like a good a time as any to discuss our favorite sports video games. It basically devolved into a discussion on why baseball games are generally boring and why Mario Kart Wii is total garbage (and one of us realizes the true awfulness of Double Dash).

This week's questions include @Hurrican_Jobu who wants to know if we agree with ZiPS on Michael Brantley's modest 2 fWAR projection, @Alex_Danco who wants an update on the Sri Lankan Cricket team, @HijKatz who wants to know if we still have nightmares about Game 7, @DanielSquareE who wants to know if Carlos Santana might get a contract extension, Tim Weyand on Facebook who wants to know why the Indians haven't signed Napoli already, and Matt McFee who wants to know if we'd rather have Encarnacion now or a prospect that is guaranteed to turn into another Francisco Lindor in five years.

ALSO don't forget, if you have any "best of" submission for the past year of Let's Talk Tribe, please leave them in the comments below so I can track them down and make a compilation podcast for next week. Anything you remember hearing that you liked in the last year is perfect.

This week's episode clocks in at 60 minutes. Please consider subscribing on iTunes and/or leaving us a review. Every little bit helps, and we couldn't do this without your support.
