Here’s to a great week of following the CBA talks, sorting out free agency rumors, and laughing at Jim Harbaugh.
Around the League
The Yankees general manager had some harsh words for the previous Collective Bargaining Agreement and is excited for changes. Wonder how Cashman would like working in the CFO for a few years? From George A. King:
That doesn’t mean the free agency market will be ignored this offseason like it was a year ago. Nevertheless, the Yankees have a close eye on how the new collective bargaining agreement shakes out.
“The CBA is going to affect us in the long term,” general manager Brian Cashman said. “It’s already crippled us in the short term. Exhibit A is our free agency last year and a lot of the international markets I’ve been taken out of.”
“The previous CBAs have really hindered us, so I think the next one is something we are clearly going to be interested in on how it will impact us over the entire course of the term of the contract. The previous ones have impacted us in a bad way.”
Some cool stuff here for home run nerds (me).
Wondering why ol’ Charlie didn’t get a chance to manage again.
A screwball? Sweet GIFs here folks.
It’s a country song. It’s Barry Zito. What more do you need?!?
