Mike Hargrove, Carlos Baerga among alumni attending Tribe Fest 2016

Tribe Fest 2016 takes place January 30 at the Ernst & Young Tower lobby in downtown Cleveland.

Information for Tribe Fest 2016 was initially released back in December, but we were missing one key piece of interest: Which alumni would be there to sign autographs? On Thursday, the Cleveland Indians answered that when they announced that Mike Hargrove, Carlos Baerga, Ellis Burks, and Jaret Wright would all be at this year’s event.

Mike Hargrove, also known as the "Human Rain Delay" because of how long he took to prepare before every single pitch while at the plate, played for the Indians from 1980 to 1985. He also managed the powerhouse teams of the 90s, winning two American League Pennants a three-year span.

Second baseman Carlos Baerga and pitcher Jared Wright both played on the Indians under Hargrove, but not at the same time. Baerga spent the first six full seasons of his career on the Tribe before being traded at the deadline in 1996 along with Alvaro Espinoza to the New York Mets for Jose Vizcaino and Jeff Kent. Wright did not debut in the Majors until 1997. He pitched for the Indians until 2002.

Tribe Fest attendees must purchase an "autograph ticket" in addition to the $5 general admissions ticket in order to guarantee an autograph session with the alumni and current players attending the event. However, the ticket only guarantees one autograph, and you have no way of knowing which player’s autograph (current or alumni) you will receive. So, if you just want to meet an Indians player and get a cool autograph you will be set, but if you have been dying to have Jaret Wright sign your hat you may wind up out of luck.

This year’s event takes place in downtown Cleveland and only runs for one day due to the renovations currently happening at Progressive Field, where Tribe Fest normally takes place. Over the course of that one day, there will be two separate sessions to ensure that the most amount of fans get to experience Tribe Fest. The first runs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the second runs from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
