Just days after receiving the highest honor any prospect could hope for--being named to our top prospect list as voted on by the Let's Go Tribe community--Mike Clevinger won some other award. Something named after Bob Feller that means he was the best pitcher in the Cleveland Indians organization last year or something.
In other news, Dan Haren took pills to stop himself from pooping while on the mound. Happy Tuesday!
Indians news
- Bobby Bradley, Mike Clevinger earn recognition as Cleveland Indians' top minor league performers | Cleveland
First baseman Bobby Bradley and pitcher Mike Clevinger were named the Indians best position player and pitching prospects yesterday. Clevinger has shot up most prospect lists after posting a career year with the Akron RubberDucks last season, and Bobby Bradley is showing unreal power potential at only 19 years old. Congrats to both of them! - Inbox: Gomes back at full strength for Indians? | MLB
Jordan Bastian is optimistic about Yan Gomes returning to his 2014 form next season and believes the Indians are done going after free agent options to fix their outfield. He also estimates that Mike Napoli will finally be formally announced sometime this week.
Around the league
- The Yankees Haven't Had a Below-Average Bullpen In 20 Years | FanGraphs
I swear Jeff Sullivan does not pay me to post every single one of his articles, but here is another great piece on the state of the New York Yankees bullpen and how the Evil Empire has managed to have a dominating 'pen for two decades. - How MLB.com writers voted in Hall of Fame balloting | MLB
Public Hall of Fame votes are rolling in, and MLB.com compiled a bunch of them along with commentary from the voters themselves. My personal favorite is Paul Hagen. - Very much related to that last story is this tweet from Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.
- Recently-retired pitcher Dan Haren went on a fantastic, personal Twitter spiel yesterday while he was bored on an exercise bike. Enjoy.
It should be mandatory all BBWAA ballots are public. Writers ask execs to go on the record all the time. How can we not?

One of my favorite moment ever was hitting a homer off Chris carpenter. I took my time running the bases.

I gave up 11 runs in Toronto and got the win one time.

I gave up so many homers cause I didn't wanna walk people. That and cause I threw 85 mph meatballs sometimes.

Sometimes when the count was 3-1, I would just throw it down the middle and hope for the best. People pop up in batting practice right

And finally, the coup de gras:
I had to take Imodium most days I pitched to plug myself up.
