The Indians needed to have a great road trip to truly in contention for the final Wild Card spot (or the Rangers needed to have a horrible 10 days), and neither has happened. But taken in isolation, a 5-4 road trip should be seen as a good thing, right?

Tonight's lineup is missing a couple starters (Urshela and Gomes), and features Josh Tomlin, who has unexpectedly been the rotation's best pitcher over the past three weeks. Both he and Lonnie Chisenhall have positioned themselves well for 2016 after just a month ago non-tenders were distinct possibilities.
