--
According to FanGraphs' playoff odds, the Cleveland Indians have a 4.9% chance of making the postseason coming into today. If they want to increase those odds (and keep me mentioning it every dang game thread), it will be up to Danny Salazar and the surging offense to take down the division rival Detroit Tigers.
Salazar is coming off of a phenomenal start where he made the best offense in the AL look like the April Indians offense. Through seven innings against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Dzar allowed just two earned runs on six hits. He hit double-digit strikeouts for the first time since June 6 and walked only one batter. He was dominant.
That Toronto series ultimately put an end to the Indians longest hitting streak of the season -- and maybe their last realistic shot at the playoffs -- but they come into today's contest carrying a fresh new streak kicked off by last night's victory.
LET'S GO TRIBE!
