Corey Kluber's right hamstring strain means the Indians will turn to Josh Tomlin Friday evening in the club's series opener in Detroit.
Tomlin has been surprisingly solid this year for the Tribe, posting a record of 3-1 and 3.08 ERA. Even more surprising is Tomlin's 8.9 K/9 rate, well above his 5.8 career mark.
The Tigers will counter with Kyle Lobstein. The left-hander is making his first start since being activated from the disabled list and enters with a 4.34 ERA.
