Game Thread: Indians face Twins in full desperation mode

It ain't over 'til it's over, but it's getting late awfully early for the Indians

Say hello to the new #3 hitter (Francisco Lindor, not Yan Gomes.)

The good news: if the Indians win the next two games, plus sweep the Twins next week, they'll have caught them in the Wild Card standings.

The bad news: There are two other teams ahead of them in the Wild Card standings, one of which is 4.5 games ahead of them.

The ugly news: Michael Brantley is out of the lineup tonight, and Mike Aviles is starting in his place in left field.

(Oh yeah: the Indians added a third catcher (Adam Moore) to the roster today, and DFAd Tyler Holt to make room on the 40-man. Makes total sense, right? It's not like the Indians would need another outfielder right now.....)
