Coming off his second poor outing in a row, Cody Anderson will be the man for the Cleveland Indians as they take on the Oakland Athletics. If the Tribe can pull it off, it would be their fourth straight win, their third straight win against the A’s, and their first series win since the All-Star break.
The Indians have been the beneficiary of some fantastic pitching lately. Trevor Bauer, Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco all pitched complete game gems, and last night Danny Salazar pitched eight innings while only allowing one run. However, with Cody Anderson on the mound there is no guarantee the A’s will not be able to score at least two runs so the offense will have to pick up some slack.
Opposing the Indians will be Aaron Brooks, who the A’s got as part of the trade that sent Ben Zobrist to the Kansas City Royals. This will be the right-handed starters second career start, and first with the A’s.
