Bradley Zimmer is the #20 prospect on Baseball Prospectus' midseason list of the top 50 prospects in baseball
The outfielder has excelled this season in Lynchburg, displaying five average or better tools. He has displayed improved actions in center field, which has boosted his value moving forward... Zimmer has a high floor that will play in the majors in some capacity, while still retaining a moderately high ceiling.
Zimmer is one of only two players in the top 30 of this list who was not anywhere to be found on BP's preseason Top 101, and the other was Yoan Moncada, a Cuban who had not signed with an MLB team when the preseason list came out, which means that in BP's opinion, no prospect's stock has risen higher than Zimmer's during the last three months.
Looking at his numbers with High-A Lynchburg so far this season, it's easy to see why Zimmer is garnering so much attention. His batting line is .304/.400/.487, giving him a wRC+ of 158. He's hit 14 doubles, 3 triples, and 10 home runs, and is 30 of 34 on stolen base attempts.
Zimmer started for the Carolina League All-Star team two weeks ago, and will play on Team USA in the MLB Futures Game on Sunday. Around that time he will also likely be promoted to Double-A Akron, because he's clearly ready for new challenges.
