Indians hold team meeting after four game sweep

Burn on, big river, burn on . . .

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Here's a great week!

White Sox 2, Indians 1

While Danny Salazar pitched well, going six and 2/3 innings and allowing just two runs, the Tribe's offense struggled again. With the loss, the Indians are now seven games below .500 and things are looking rather bleak.

Indians hold team meeting (Meisel)

After the game, the Tribe held a lengthy players only team meeting.  I imagine it wasn't a pleasant affair.  Jason Kipnis wasn't shy with his post game comments:

"We've been playing like s**t, there's no way around it. Embarrassing. No fight, giving up early. We've got people worrying about their own things, nobody's held accountable. It's just not the way we're going to do business here."

Struggling Tribe calls for change in attitude (Fagerstrom)

A look at some recent miscues, plus Terry Francona taking much of the blame for the club's poor play.  From Francona:

"We need to start attacking better, I'm responsible for that. It has not been going the way I want it to. That'll change, or I'll probably die trying. But, it's going to change. It's going to get better."

Angels interested in David Murphy (Morosi via Twitter)

Here's hoping the Tribe moves Murphy and Raburn . . . soon!

Royals acquire Cueto (Lukehart)

A big move for the Royals, as they trade for a legitimate ace in Johnny Cueto.  Kansas City shipped three left handed pitching prospects to Cincinnati, including top 50 prospect Brandon Finnegan.  Cueto will be a free agent at season's end.

One day I'll tell my grandkids about Mr. Trout.
