--
It seems like forever ago that Corey Kluber actually had a terrible outing. He has stumbled a few times, giving up a five spot here and there, but by and large he has been fantastic. In 12 of his last 13 starts, he has lasted at least 6.0 innings and only in two of those starts did he give up more than two earned runs.
If Kluber can manage to dominate the Chicago White Sox lineup like he has almost every other team this year, the Indians might almost have a chance at winning. Only a small chance, of course, because getting a win will actually require the Tribe bats to wake up, something they could not do last night against a dominant Jeff Samardzija when they lost 8-1.
The recently promoted Jesus Aguilar is wasting no time getting into the Tribe lineup. He will be starting at first base tonight against the left-handed Jose Quintana, giving Carlos Santana a chance to get half a rest day as the team’s designated hitter. This also pushes the usual DH against lefties, Ryan Raburn, into right field, with Mike Aviles handling the field on the other side of Michael Brantley. If you are a fan of outfield defense you may want to look away from this one.
Let’s go Tribe!
