Carlos Carrasco will look to take a page out of Danny Salazar's book from his start last night when he takes the mound against the Oakland Athletics tonight. Similar to Salazar, Carrasco comes into his start against the A's having struggling in his last outing. Carrasco lasted only four innings and gave up five earned runs on 10 hits back on July 6 against the Houston Astros, but if he can have himself a bounceback performance the Cleveland Indians would find themselves winners of their second straight series and fifth straight game in a row.
A victory tonight would also put the Tribe within one game of .500, which would be the closest they've been to an even record since all the way back on April 11 when hey were 2-3.
On a more somber note, Mike Aviles will not be available for this game as the team placed him on the Family Medical Emergency list earlier today. Understandably, there has been no confirmation from the Indians or Aviles himself as to the reason for the move, but it's likely connected to his daughter, Adriana, and her fight against juvenile leukemia. Aviles 'daughter, Adriana, is undergoing chemotherapy and he chosen to stay with her (thanks SpecialBrowne). We wish him and his family the best.
Replacing Aviles on the roster will be Jose Ramirez, who was recalled from Triple-A Columbus.
Let's go Tribe!
