Minor League theme days are the some of my favorite side attractions in sports -- they can range from Game of Thrones to Star Wars and everything in between. Without the need to maintain high standards or looking good to sell jerseys, the uniforms can be gaudy, brightly-colored monstrosities... and I love every second of them.

Naturally they chose the leader, the number one, the best pizza-loving turtle this side of the manhole cover Raphael, right? Wrong.
The winner of the TMNT vote on was Mikey. The Captains will wear these jerseys on 8/21! Tix: http://t.co/kNG1znJtXv pic.twitter.com/LZe1ImwHZM

Mikey? Really?! That little orange nunchuck dweeb who was the absolute worst to play as in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time? The uniforms are based on the currently-running Nickelodeon cartoon (thankfully not those horrifying Michael Bay creatures), so maybe he's more likable than I remember from the '90s show, but man. You blew it, people.
Sticking with the Turtles theme, the Captains are also offering a limited number of "VIP Pizza Party" tickets that include a meet and greet with the Turtles themselves, a lot of pizza and a chance to win one of the glorious jerseys for yourself.
Perhaps even better than the Captains wearing these Turtles-themed jerseys is the fact that their opponents, the West Michigan Whitecaps, will be wearing Shredder jerseys.
