The Indians drafted 41 players this week. Not all of them will sign with the team, but we don't know which ones will or won't yet, so we'd better just look at the lot of them. Given that you might someday name your child after one of these guys (World Series heroes get babies named after them), this stuff is worth knowing.
You can also find the rest of our coverage of the draft, including more details profiles on the top guys, here.

"Jurassic World" hits theaters today. Only four of the players listed above were alive when "Jurassic Park" was released. (Most likely that means none of the players listed above saw it 11 times in theaters, like I did.) Six of the players the Indians drafted this week still hadn't been born when "The Lost World," came out. I don't have any non-JP ways of relating to you how young some of these guys, and/or how old I'm getting.
The first three players drafted are all teenage pitchers (something the Indians hadn't done since 2001), and are among the 23 pitchers the Tribe drafted altogether this. Two of those top three pitchers are lefties, but but only 3 of the other 20 arms the team selected are southpaws.
Perhaps because many of the organization's top prospects are outfielders, the Indians only drafted 4 of them this year. It's almost completely possible (and perhaps likely, given that the team is generally known to draft the best player available, without worrying much about position) that the current makeup of the farm system had nothing to do with the team adding so few outfielders. It's also possible that one or two of the infielders they drafted will end up in the outfield.
The Indians put out an excellent press release, with all sorts of information on their draft picks, so if you're looking for college OBP and amateur All-Star appearances, you should definitely check it out.
I thought for sure that Ka'ai Tom (whose full name is actually Blaze Ka'ai Tom) was going to be my favorite name from this draft class, but then I learned that Luke Wakamatsu's nickname is Luke Sky-Waka, and that's definitely going to be my winner. I can picture his poster already...
