Cleveland Indians vs. Seattle Mariners
Thursday, June 11, 12:10 ET, Progressive Field
TV: STO, MLBTV, Radio: WTAM
--
The Indians woes at home continued last night when they dropped a big one to the Mariners 9-3. If they want any hope of proving that they can win at Progressive Field and don't want to reduce their already tiny playoff chances to nill, they'll have to lean on journeyman pitcher Shaun Marcum.
To this point, Marcum has done a fairly decent job shoring up the fifth rotation spot for the Tribe -- arguably the only spot in their rotation that has been a major weakness for the entire season. In his last outing against the Baltimore Orioles, Marcum went 6 1/3 innings and allowed three runs. Despite the quality start, the Indians still dropped the game as well as three of their next four games coming into today's bout with Seattle.
If this will be the game that turns around the Indians issues at home, it'll be done without the help of Jason Kipnis, who is taking a well-deserved off day after playing in every game this season. Because of the Kipnis break, the Indians infield will look a bit younger with Zach Walters taking over at second and Giovanny Urshela manning third base.
Let's go Tribe!
