After another superb perfomance by Corey Kluber last night, Trevor Bauer is up again today, hoping to help extend the Tribe's winning run to six. Bauer is coming off back-to-back terrific games in which he posted basically identical numbers (7.1 IP, 4 H, 3 BB, 1 ER) while totalling 17 strikeouts between them.

Yesterday the Reds announced that their ace Johnny Cueto would not be pitching today due to elbow soreness. In his stead, they are turning to rookie Raisel Iglesias, who has made a couple of spot starts already this season and has been used in a relief role in his last couple of appearances. In total, the highly rated Cuban import (who was ranked No.58 in Baseball America's pre-2015 rankings after being signed on a $27MM/7-year deal last June) has pitched 16 innings in the bigs, giving up seven runs for a 3.94 ERA but with an FIP of just 2.88.

Today's Lineups

CINCINNATI REDS CLEVELAND INDIANS

Skip Schumaker - LF Carlos Santana - 1B
Joey Votto - 1B Michael Brantley - CF
Todd Frazier - 3B Brandon Moss - RF
Jay Bruce - RF David Murphy - LF
Brayan Pena - C Nick Swisher - DH
Marlon Byrd - DH Yan Gomes - C
Brennan Boesch - CF Lonnie Chisenhall - 3B
Kris Negron - SS Mike Aviles - SS
Raisel Iglesias - RHP Trevor Bauer - RHP

From the Tribe's perspective the main story today is of course the return of Yan Gomes, following a six-week absence due to a knee injury that was incurred in a home plate collision with Rajai Davis on April 11. In the past week or so, Gomes has successfully negotiated a rehab assignment, first to Lake County and then to Columbus, and everyone will be keeping their fingers crossed that he can stay healthy from here on out. To make room on the roster for Gomes, Brett Hayes has been designated for assignment — I guess he might still end up back at the Clippers.

Both Jose Ramirez and Michael Bourn are being rested today — Mike Aviles takes over at SS, while Michael Brantley makes another appearance in CF.

Today's minor league schedule is as follows (see here for live scores):

1:05pm ET: Gwinnett (19-24) @ Columbus (24-19) with the former Rockies starting pitcher Jhoulys Chacin back on the mound for the Clippers.

6:35pm ET Akron (18-24) @ Binghamton (24-18) in which the increasingly promising Mike Clevinger gets the start for the RubberDucks.

2:00pm ET: Frederick (23-20) @ Lynchburg (19-24) with Michael Peoples going for the Hillcats.

2:05 pm ET: Lake County (22-21) @ Great Lakes (20-20) as the Captains try to end a three-game slump with top pitching prospect Justus Sheffield up.
