Cleveland Indians vs Cincinnati Reds

The Cleveland Indians are flying high coming into this game against the Cincinnati Reds this afternoon, and for good reason. They have won 4 straight, the offense has scored at least 3 runs in 7 of the last 8 games, and Corey Kluber takes the mound as hot as ever. Friday night's 7-3 victory also put the Tribe in prime position to win their 5th straight game, and 3rd consecutive series.

Carlos Santana comes into the game after finally breaking a dreadful streak at the plate where he went 0-25 amid lingering back issues. He's looked all sorts of twisted at the plate over the past two weeks, but he was able to hit a double off of Jumbo Diaz in last night's game, so hopefully he can carry that over to today's match up.

Dr. Smooth himself, Michael Brantley, will be getting the day off - his first schedule day off since returning to the team on April 10th. Replacing Brantley in left field will be David Murphy, who currently sports an impressively sad -40.7 UZR/150 rating at the position.

We may start seeing more players take scheduled days off as the Indians work this 20-game marathon they are currently in the midst of. Their next schedule day off is June 1st.

Taking the mound for the Reds will be Anthony DeSclafani, a pitcher who is mostly unfamiliar to this Tribe lineup. Brandon Moss has gone 2-2 against him in his career, and Jose Ramirez has gone 1-6. Other than that, it will be new faces all around.

It may not matter in the end how good or bad the offense does if the Klubot continues to function at such a high level as his last two starts, where he struck out 30 batters and only walked 1. Keep that win streak going!
