After a thrilling end to a thrilling game last night, the Tribe are left in the delightful but unfamiliar position of being able to go for the sweep this afternoon. Carlos Carrasco is back on the bump for the Indians. Having given up at least three runs in each of his past four starts, he could really use a solid outing today.

The opposing starting pitcher today is the 24yo Nick Martinez, who struggled in his debut year in 2014 (0.1 fWAR in 29 games), but enjoyed a terrific April (just one earned run allowed in four starts) before coming back down to earth this month (eight ERs in three starts). Martinez's fastball isn't anything to strike fear into hitters (he actually isn't much of a strikeout pitcher at all), but he's been using his slider a lot more in 2015, and consequently has been able to generate more groundballs.

Today's Lineups

CLEVELAND INDIANS TEXAS RANGERS
Jason Kipnis - 2B Shin-Soo Choo - RF
David Murphy - LF Delino DeShields Jr. - LF
Michael Brantley - DH Prince Fielder - DH
Lonnie Chisenhall - 3B Adrian Beltre - 3B
Brandon Moss - 1B Mitch Moreland - 1B
Nick Swisher - RF Elvis Andrus - SS
Michael Bourn - CF Leonys Martin - CF
Roberto Perez - C Adam Rosales - 2B
Jose Ramirez - SS Robinson Chirinos - C
Carlos Carrasco - RHP Nick Martinez - RHP

With Carlos Santana rested today, Tito has mixed things up with the fielding positions. Nick Swisher makes his first appearance at RF, with Brandon Moss sliding down to 1B. Michael Brantley is the DH today, with David Murphy occupying LF (which is arguably the position to which he is most suited).

With Mike Aviles scheduled to return for the White Sox series tomorrow, presumably either Jose Ramirez or Zach Walters will be sent down to make room for him. Unless he fares badly today, Ramirez looks like the favorite to stick with the MLB team.

Today's minor league schedule is as follows (all of these games are already in progress — see here for live scores):

1:05pm ET: Columbus (21-15) @ Pawtucket (21-16) with Michael Roth on the mound for the Clippers.

1:00pm ET Akron (15-21) @ Altoona (22-12) in which lefty Shawn Morimando gets the start for the RubberDucks.

2:00pm ET: Wilmington (19-16) @ Lynchburg (14-23) who have Dace Kime starting.

1:30 pm ET: Dayton (19-17) @ Lake County (20-16) with Sean Brady up.
