Opening Day for the Indians is two weeks away. Gosh that feels good to type.

Today Zach McAllister (AKA, "Old Rough and Ready," AKA "The Attach") gets another opportunity to show he deserves a spot in the starting rotation. He's had an okay spring so far, if not one to write home about. Because he's out of options, there's a pretty good chance he'll be on the 25-man roster, but it could be as a reliever instead.

Scott Atchison, Marc Rzepczynski, C.C. Lee, Kyle Crockett, and Bryan Shaw are also scheduled to work today, though unless McAllister goes only four innings, there won't be a full frame for each of those guys.

Today's Indians starting lineup:

  1. Michael Bourn (CF)
  2. Jose Ramirez (SS)
  3. Michael Brantley (LF)
  4. Carlos Santana (1B)
  5. Brandon Moss (RF)
  6. Lonnie Chisenhall (3B)
  7. Ryan Raburn (DH)
  8. Roberto Perez (C)
  9. Michael Martinez (2B)

Jason Kipnis continues to rest because of a sore back. I wouldn't say I'm concerned yet, but I'd like to see him back on the field by Wednesday or Thursday. Among today's starters, only Martinez, Kipnis' replacement at the Keystone Position, is not expected by most to be on the Opening Day roster.
