This is news because Napoli once failed a physical that cost him a long-term deal with the Red Sox.

Mike Napoli passes physical, Cleveland Indians to make deal official this week | cleveland.com

Usually a physical is merely a formality, but in Napoli's case it was more important. In 2012 his long-term deal with the Red Sox was voided because the physical revealed  degenerative ailment in both hips.

The other important piece of information was that the Indians have leased a new (and better) facility in the Dominican Republic.

One amusing tidbit in Hoynes' notes is that the Indians among 17 teams that Jonathan Papelbon can't be traded to without his permission. Thanks, Jonathan!
