You be the GM: Post your offseason plan for the Cleveland Indians

Mike Chernoff has a lot on his plate in his first year as the Tribe's GM. Why don't you help him out a little?

Pending some kind of major comeback from the New York Mets, it looks as if the Kansas City Royals are poised to win the World Series. Seeing them win once is bad enough, so we need to do everything in our power to stop it happening twice in a row. And you, being the baseball fan that you are, have the perfect plan for the Cleveland Indians to top the AL Central next year, right? Well, show us what you got.

Now is the time to reveal that master plan. Similar to what Jason ran last year, we are encouraging everyone to post your offseason plans as a FanPost, and the best (honestly, anything with effort put into it) will get a front page bump periodically throughout the offseason.

Feel free to post literally any kind of plan. Thoughtful, realistic plans are encouraged, of course, but if you want to go all out and propose some "playing with unfair trades turned off" kind of offseasons, go for it--just don't get too crazy with it. This is your imaginary offseason, don’t let the Indians watch the 2016 World Series from their couch. Give first-year General Manager Mike Chernoff something to think about when he starts his morning by reading Let's Go Tribe (as I'm sure he does).

Jason’s template last year was great, and I am not about to mess with perfection, so it is very similar to anyone who participated last year. Feel free to post questions or suggestions in the comments, but again post your plans as FanPosts.

Free agents:

Peruse the list of potential free agents and identify at least a couple player you would pursue, along with the maximum offer you would extend to each of them, and a brief explanation of what you like about the/what role you see them filling for the Tribe. For example:

Trades:

Feel free to propose any potential trades that you think sound reasonable for both sides, and the rationale behind them. If you've got a realistic hypothetical that includes the Indians picking up Mike Trout, I'm all ears, but be sure to do your best to keep things plausible here.

The 25-man roster and a Summary:

Here's is the Tribe's current roster. Not all of those guys will be with the organization come 2015, much less on the active roster. Feel free to list your projected Opening Day 25-man roster, maybe even with a handy depth chart:

  • SP1:
  • SP2:
  • SP3:
  • SP4:
  • SP5:
  • Bullpen:
  • C:
  • 1B:

Hey you, person about to post your plan in the comments. Stop that. Make it a FanPost instead.
