Tuesday 9/9 Tribe News and Notes: The Pitching Has Been Great Lately, Minus Yesterday

Speaking of yesterday, it is this author's belief that Bryan Price and Austin Adams will be knocked off the 40-man prior to the Rule V draft. They are not good pitchers.

First, good news! We had Kershaw on the mound yesterday for the 2nd game of our doubleheader!

Over at Fangraphs, August Fagerstrom took a look at Danny Salazar and talked to Mickey Callaway about him.

• Also at fangraphs, a look at the Indians' entire Cy Young month. It appears that Mr. Fagerstrom and Mr. Cistulli have the same Small Sample Tribe Jinxing Capabilities as Mr. Jason Lukehart.

• Prior to yesterday's 12 runs allowed:

• Unfortunately, the White Sox future future looks bright because of Jose Abreu.

• Marcus Stroman pitched a Maddux yesterday. Shelby Miller was on pace for one at one time too, which would have been two on one day for the 8th time.

• The Tigers beat the Royals yesterday to pull within 1 game of KC. Jeff Sullivan was on a roll tweeting about said game.

MLBTR takes a look at the free agent market for one Asdrubal Cabrera.

The Pirates released right-handed reliever Ernesto Frieri. They acquired him earlier in the summer for Jason Grilli, who saw action in yesterday's makeup game.

• And finally, the 2015 MLB schedule was released yesterday. The Indians open in Houston and probably won't travel as many miles as most teams. Much more on the schedule will be up on LGT later today.
