If you have good taste in TV and access to HBO, this winter you watched and loved 'True Detective.' If you have good taste in pitches and access to STO broadcasts, this summer you've watched and loved Corey Kluber.
Well, the two breakout hits of 2014 have just been combined!
Corey Kluber is having one of the best seasons in recent memory by an Indians pitcher. He ranks 3rd in the American League for innings pitched, is tied for 2nd in strikeouts, 3rd in ERA, 3rd in FIP, and 2nd in fWAR.
At some point recently, Kluber sat down with the production team from the MLB Fan Cave to put together his own audition tape for the part of Rust Cohle, played in the actual series by Matthew McConaughey.
Take a look:
I like to believe that this entire thing was Kluber's idea, and that he called up the producers about getting it put together, and supervised the recreation of the opening credits (which I wish they'd run all the way through). Now I want there to be an entire series of these, including one that reenacts the entire 6-minute tracking shot from the end of episode 4, composed entirely with members of the Indians.
Who do you think should be cast in the role of Marty Hart? I'm thinking Slider.
