• In a move that may explain to you why the Diamondbacks aren't good, Arizona traded Brandon McCarthy to the Yankees for LGFT Vidal Nuno. Now, presumably the D'Backs wanted salary relief, but Vidal Nuno is a AAAA guy. I would have waited a little longer to deal McCarthy, perhaps after a couple good outings. This could be a bad fit for McCarthy though.

• If you missed it, the 2014 ASG rosters were announced, and only Michael Brantley is in for the Indians so far. Matt Wieters, who played less than half of the first half, got more votes than Yan Gomes. Corey Kluber did not make the team either, but is a final vote candidate. VOTE FOR KLUBOT HERE (and the Indians and Rockies have partnered up, so vote for Justin Morneau too) Cody Allen chimes in: "Go over there and ask Kansas City right now if they think he deserves to be in the [All-Star] game. They're going to say yes."
