Series Preview

The shortstop interregnum begins with Jose Ramirez starting at shortstop tonight. The next couple couple months may represent the only chance Ramirez has at shortstop, or even as an everyday player. Francisco Lindor for now will remain in Columbus, and perhaps get into a few games in September.

The Mariners today also made a trade, acquiring Austin Jackson as part of the David Price deal. Not sure what the logistics are, but Jackson was pulled out of the Tigers game this afternoon in Comerica Park at about 3:30 PM. Even if he drove, he'd be able to make it to Progressive Field by game time, so perhaps he'll play in two games on the same day for different clubs.
