Klubot made short work of the Tigers in the afternoon game, and the Tribe offense beat up Detroit's Drew Verhagen in his MLB debut. The Indians have a much bigger challenge ahead of them in game 2, as they face de facto Tigers ace Max Scherzer.
Zach McAllister takes the hill for the Tribe, and it will take an impressive performance from him to help lift an offense that has already played once today over one of the game's best pitchers. Roberto Perez gets the start at catcher in place of Yan Gomes, which means we can use Gomes as a late-inning pinch hitter against Detroit's shaky bullpen if it comes to that. Here's hoping it won't, though, and that the Indians can put a hurtin' on Scherzer.
Let's Go Tribe!
