A split against the Yankees at home would be disappointing considering that the Indians had excellent chances to win the two games in this series that they've lost, but a split is better than the alternative. As the All-Star break approaches, it would be the smallest of victories to reach .500 before Monday. The White Sox come to town this weekend, and the Tribe will fortunately miss Chris Sale. Tonight's game against David Phelps and the next three against the Sox present a great opportunity to take three out of four.
As of 5:00, it looks like Roberto Perez will be making his MLB debut tonight, though SBN thinks Yan is in the lineup catching. Perez's rise, if you've missed it, is a great story. He also has the backing of a couple LGTers I trust, which probably means something. But then again, we whiffed on David Huff. Perez has a .922 OPS for the Clippers in 2014, so it's hard to imagine him struggling too badly.
Let's Go Tribe!
