Series Preview
So what will Lonnie Chisenhall do as an encore after hitting three home runs driving in nine? Whatever it is, it will be from the seventh spot in the lineup. Surely Chisenhall is the only batter in history to hit three home runs and then bat at a lower spot in the order in his next game.
Lost somewhat among all the accolades for the offensive players was the job the bullpen did in long relief. Scott Atchison, John Axford, Carlos Carrasco, and Josh Outman finished off the game after TJ House couldn't get past the fourth inning, meaning that most of the back end relievers will be fresh if needed tonight. KLUBOT will be pitching, and it'll be facing one of the weaker offenses in the league, particularly when it comes to power. George "Babe" Kottaras has more home runs this season than Eric Hosmer (currently t-4th on the club). Heck, Lonnie Chisenhall has more home runs in Monday games in Arlington, Texas than Hosmer has this season.
Because of yesterday's rainout, the Royals have pushed back their starters, so that Jason Vargas, who was scheduled to start against the Yankees yesterday, will instead be facing the Indians tonight, with Yordano Ventura being pushed back to start tomorrow afternoon's game.
