The two players who started the year on the Disabled List both had to leave tonight's game with injuries.
- Michael Bourn, who started the year on the DL with a hamstring injury, left the game for precautionary reason when the hamstring started to act up. Bourn is listed as day to day now, though he'll probably miss at least tomorrow's game.
- Jason Giambi, who started the season on the shelf with a rib injury, left after two at-bats with a calf injury. He is also listed as day to day.
Mike Aviles replaced Bourn in the lineup, and played left field, with Michael Brantley sliding over to center. Ryan Raburn replaced Giambi as the DH. The two injuries left the Indians with only backup catcher George Kottaras on the bench, and if both players can't go tomorrow, that's what they'll have for the series finale. The Indians might have to send Nick Hagadone back down (they currently have a nine-man bullpen) and call up another position player just to be on the safe side.
With Jason Kipnis having been placed on the DL yesterday, Yan Gomes away on paternity, Elliot Johnson having been designated for assignment, and Josh Tomlin being brought up to join the rotation, it's been a very hectic couple days for the Indians roster.
