Today is our Memorial Day in celebration of all the men and women who have served our country. Amidst the baseball, beer and bratwurst, please take a moment to reflect on the importance of today. We all know someone who has served and, for me, today always brings back memories of a good friend of mine who lost his life in Iraq, 1LT. Michael L. Runyan. Mike and I were grew up together on the golf course and graduated High School together. He qualified for the State Tournament his Junior year where we traveled together and I helped him prep to compete. Our Senior year we were Co-Captains of our team. I'll never forget the phone call from my mom the day we found out and I will never forget one of the best human beings with the most infectious smiles I've ever known. Thank you, Mike.

Back to baseball:

Tomlin starts his first game since being called on in extra innings to hold the ship in an eventual Tribe victory. Josh has done a good job so far this year and another solid start of 6+ innings would go a long way today to help aid a bullpen that has been taxed by every starter who isn't a robot.

The White Sox come into the game as one of the best offenses in the league but, luckily for us, have one of the worst pitching staffs. Alexei Ramirez continues his great season, however, his numbers in May are much closer to ordinary than the absurd numbers he put up in April. Hopefully that trend continues downward and pulls the rest of their offense with him today.

No Kipnis yet today, but his DL stint is set to be up tomorrow. Let's Go Tribe!
