This has been a very good week for the Indians no matter what happens today, but a win today would make it an outstanding one. Bauer will try to make that happen in his second start since being made a permanent part of the rotation. Corey Kluber's dominant start on Saturday, combined with the offense's strong showing, means the bullpen was able to get some much-needed rest yesterday, so if Bauer can get through 6 innings in decent shape, the team's top relief arms should be able to take it from there.
Santana had three walks and hit a home run Saturday, and now he's been moved into the #2 spot in the lineup. His elite walk-rate makes him a logical choice for that spot, though of course his season-long slump will have some questioning why he's so high in the order. He splits up the left-handed bats of Bourn and Brantley.
Swisher returns after a couple days off, while Asdrubal Cabrera is out again, but will reportedly play on Monday.
Finally, Jason Kipnis is still in Columbus. The plan had been to have him sit out today and join the Tribe in Chicago tomorrow. Now he will apparently player one more game with the Clippers, and be back with the Indians on Tuesday.
