Indians news (Wednesday): Trevor Bauer paces big win over the Tigers

New, comments

Lonnie Chisenhall went 1-for-4, which lowered many of his rate stats. SLOUCH.

When there's a photo this good of Lonnie on the first page of photos, do you really think I can resist?

Trevor Bauer, Bryan Shaw and Cody Allen were excellent last night. The offense actually helped out too, and the Tribe won 6–2. Here's the recap.

The Indians channeled their inner Toronto Blue Jays yesterday, making 6 roster moves: Jason Giambi, Trevor Bauer and Justin Sellers to the 25-man roster; Jesus Aguilar, Jose Ramirez, and T.J. House to Columbus.

Free Agency is Alive in Mid May

Stephen Drew finally landed with a team. He's headed back to the Boston Red Sox, with whom he struggled with the bat late last season. He will earn somewhere around $10.2M for the rest of this season, which is less than he and his agent Scott Boras turned down previously. If he had signed with a team other than Boston, that team would have had to forfeit a draft pick.

Jair Jurrjens has signed with the Reds for $800,000.

MLBTR does nothing wrong here in comparing the 2013 and 2014 velocities of free agent pitchers. Aaron Harang's velocity has decreased, but not as much as Justin Masterson's. HAIL BRANDON MCCARTHY!

Clifton Phifer Lee underwent an MRI on his left elbow. Luckily for baseball fans, it doesn't appear to be overly serious.

Castrovince takes a look at Victor Martinez's excellent season. And wonders if Victor and the Indians could reunite. Under no circumstance would I offer him a contract longer than two years.

Chris Davis hit 3 home runs yesterday, and Adam Wainwright pitched a 1-hit shutout.

And finally... I'm not going to try to tackle this one myself, so here's a tweet:
