Josh Tomlin takes the mound this Mother's Day and will be hoping to build upon the excellent start he had last week against the Twins. Tomlin made his return from Tommy John surgery in fine style, pitching 6.2 innings, with 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and 4 strikeouts, recording his first major league victory in nearly two years. His opponent today will be Chris Archer, who is having a so-so season. His ERA is rather high at 4.91 but his FIP is more encouraging 2.93.
Michael Brantley will be the Indians' DH today, getting some rest as Nyjer Morgan slots into left field. Lonnie Chisenhall is batting second, as Francona looks to get the offense back on track since last night's dismal showing in the 7-1 loss to the Rays.
Happy Mother's Day to you all (we have already had ours in Britain, but enjoy your day US mums!). Let's hope the Tribe can get the win today and make all the Tribe-supporting mothers happy.
