Series Preview

Starting pitchers: Corey Kluber (RH) vs. Tyson Ross (RH)

Kluber did not look good in his first start, but hopefully he'll fare better back home against a National League lineup. Ross is a 26-year-old righty who was a bit better than league average in 125 innings last year.

Starting Lineups:

Indians Padres
Nyjer Morgan (CF) Everth Cabrera (SS)
Nick Swisher (1B) Seth Smith (LF)
Jason Kipnis (2B) Chase Headley (3B)
Carlos Santana (3B) Yonder Alonso (1B)
Michael Brantley (LF) Yasmani Grandal (C)
Asdrubal Cabrera (SS) Will Venable (RF)
Lonnie Chisenhall (DH) Jedd Gyorko (2B)
Yan Gomes (C) Tommy Medica (DH)
David Murphy (RF) Alexi Amarista (CF)

There's been a little movement around the bottom of the batting order from day to day, but this is looking like the standard lineup against righties, and it's a lineup I feel good about. It'd be nice to see them jump the Padres early, especially with a doubleheader looming.

Speaking of which, Trevor Bauer has been brought up from Columbus to start the second game tomorrow. Hold on to your butts.

Today's other AL Central games:

Royals (Yordano Ventura) vs. Rays (Chris Archer), 8:10 ET

White Sox (Jose Quintana) @ Rockies (Franklin Morales), 8:40 ET
