Indians vs. White Sox Game Thread (Friday): Tribe faces Chicago ace Chris Sale

It's a good thing they don't play games on paper, because Chris Sale is of McCoy Silk stock, while Carlos Carrasco is something closer to the back of a cocktail napkin.

Series Preview

It's a beautiful evening in Chicago, and tomorrow is set to be lovely too, but Sunday's forecast calls for rain throughout the afternoon.

Starting pitchers: Carlos Carrasco (R) vs. Chris Sale (L)

The Indians have tended to struggle against lefties in recent years, and Chris Sale is the best lefty in the American League. That seems like a recipe for disaster, but the Tribe did incredibly well against him in 2013 (22 runs on 34 hits in 22 innings), so who knows what'll happen.

Starting lineups:

Indians White Sox
Asdrubal Cabrera (SS) Adam Eaton (CF)
Nick Swisher (1B) Marcus Semien (2B)
Jason Kipnis (2B) Conor Gillaspie (3B)
Carlos Santana (3B) Jose Abreu (1B)
Ryan Raburn (DH) Adam Dunn (DH)
Michael Brantley (CF) Dayan Viciedo (RF)
Yan Gomes (C) Alejandro De Aza (LF)
Mike Aviles (LF) Alexei Ramirez (SS)
Elliot Johnson (RF) Tyler Flowers (C)

Hopefully Jose Abreu decides not to hit two more massive home runs tonight.

Today's other AL Central games:

Royals (Bruce Chen) @ Twins (Kyle Gibson), 8:10 ET

Tigers (Rick Porcello) @ Padres (Andrew Cashner), 10:10 ET
