The Indians picked up their second win in a row, defeating the Reds 4-0, making the Tribe kings of Ohio for February.
Presumptive fourth starter Zach McAllister looked good in two shutout innings. He issued a walk and made things worse by throwing away a pickoff attempt, but otherwise retired everyone he faced, including four ground outs.
Up next was Josh Tomlin, a candidate for the final spot in the rotation. He got his campaign off to a good start, retiring the first five hitters he faced, before giving up a pair of singles and then getting out of the inning, giving him two scoreless frames.
John Axford made his Cactus League debut with two strikeouts during his inning. Cody Allen did the same. Those two may be pitch the most-significant relief innings for the Indians in 2014, so while an inning pitched before the calendar even turns to March doesn't mean much, it's still nice to see positive results.
Offensively, Lonnie Chisenhall drew his second walk in as many games. Given that a low walk-rate has been the biggest flaw of his MLB career thus far, it's nice to see him showing some patience. He also hit a line-drive single and scored two of the team's four runs.
Carlos Moncrief singled in a run in the 6th, though he was later picked off second base when we wandered too far on a ball in the dirt.
The big hit of the day came from Ryan Raburn, who smacked a 2-run homer to left field off Cincinnati's Homer Bailey (who recently signed a $105-million extension that is seen by many as the logical comparison point for a potential deal between the Indians and Justin Masterson).

The Indians leave Goodyear for the first time this spring tomorrow, when they travel to Glendale to face the White Sox at 3:00 ET. Trevor Bauer will start for the Tribe, possibly being stretched for two innings after throwing one on Wednesday. Aaron Harang will also make his second appearance of the spring. Audio is available through MLB.TV and on WTAM in Cleveland.
