Ryan and I discuss the Indians' dreadful series in Atlanta, and what it means for their playoff chances as they head into this weekend's showdown with the Tigers. Other topics include the surprisingly strong pitching the Tribe has gotten in August (Ubaldo Jimenez had another solid outing last night, Zach McAllister has made three-straight strong starts, and the bullpen allowed just 1 run in 8.2 innings against the Braves) ...and the awful hitting that's caused them to lose 14 of their 26 games this month, despite that AL-best pitching. We also examined the results of last offseason's spending (in the wake of Brett Myers being released) and pondered which members of the 1995 Indians would be of most help to this year's squad. Now there was a lineup that knew how to score runs.
