MLB Final Score/Recap: Indians defeat Twins easily behind Zach McAlister and rare offensive outburst - Let's Go Tribe

Can you believe that next Sunday is September 1st? I can't.

When all phases of the team is going good it makes for great baseball. Of late the starting pitching has been excellent, the bullpen has been mostly good, but the offense hasn't done its part. But last night everything was working, thanks partly to Liam Hendriks, but still it was nice to see.

If it's not one leg, it's another for Ryan Raburn: Cleveland Indians insider |

It's looking more and more like Ryan Raburn will need to go this Disabled List. He was out again last night, and with only two healthy players on the bench, it's going to be hard for the Indians to manage that much longer. The problem is that there isn't much help on the 40-man roster, with Tim Fedroff the only outfielder available. In retrospect it would have been a smart move to claim David DeJesus on waivers from Washington, as he would have fit perfectly into the outfield rotation. A straight platoon and DeJesus and Stubbs would have made right field a much better offensive for the Indians, and DeJesus is a better defender. And because the Indians had (and have) a worse record at the time than Tampa Bay, their claim would have trumped the Rays'. Oh well.

The Indians could add David Cooper to the roster, but that still doesn't really solve the outfield depth problem, as I don't think the Indians want to be playing Nick Swisher there every day. I think if Raburn goes on the DL, the Indians are making a trade.
