With the Tribe recently breaking the century mark on numbers of games played in this season, I am looking for evidence of correlation (causation?) of anything to help us for the stretch drive.
As sabermetrics has not gotten me anywhere lately, I decided to look at something a bit more superstitious. And as readers of this site know, I do have a hankering for hats and jerseys of the Tribe. My series last year on the past hats the Tribe wore was fairly well received. I own over 20 different Tribe hats and four different jerseys as well.
So onto the analysis of the 2013 season via the jerseys/caps worn this season.
The Tribe has the following options for jersey/cap combinations:
Official Home: White top with Indians script, Wahoo cap with red brim, white pants
Alternate Home: Blue top with Indians script, Wahoo cap with red brim, white pants
Weekend Day Home: Cream top with Indians block, red cap with blue block C, white pants
Official Road: Grey top with Cleveland block, blue cap with red block C, grey pants
Alternate Road: Blue top with Indians script, Wahoo cap with blue brim, grey pants
The Indians have also worn the camouflage style uniform on Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, both paired with the road greys. The hat itself was grey to match the uniform. They also wore replica 1902 uniforms in one home game.

Hmmm. Nothing seems to really stand out significantly. Personally I prefer the red cap uniform and it does win two-thirds of the time. But that blue top with wahoo is just slightly ahead. And no surprise that the white with wahoo has been worn most often as it is the official home jersey. But on the road, I believe the road greys look best and the record also supports this. But I was kind of amazed that how close the blue with wahoo is to the official road uniform. Maybe we should look at each pitcher individually and see if that tells a better story.
[Note: records shown are not the individual win-loss of the pitcher, but rather the team result]

Masterson needs to avois the all whites at home and stick with the all greys on the road.

Jimenez also needs to avoid the all whites at home and the all greys on the road. And that hideous special uniform needs to stay mothballed.

Kluber is leaning towards the all-white while there is no clear winner on the road.

Still no clear winner for the homes, but the road is leaning to the all greys.

Sample size extremely small, but won't matter when he moves to the pen this year.
Still no real definitive answers, let's try one last sort, runs allowed and runs scored.
