It seems that everyone on this list is heading in the right direction, including Juan Diaz, who has started to hit again about the same time that he's started to play other positions. Francisco Lindor will be promoted to Akron early this week, starting a chain reaction through the rest of the system. Will Jose Ramirez be bumped up to Columbus, or will it be Ronny Rodriguez? Who will take over shortstop at Carolina?

Guilmet and Salazar are back in the minors after brief appearances in Cleveland. Scott Barnes' lost season continues, as he's been placed on the AAA DL. Shawn Armstrong is back pitching, though only in Arizona, while Trey Haley seems to be pitching a bit better of late. Although the Indians aren't exactly crawling with starting pitching prospects, a bunch of decent relievers are throughout the system, so the Soto/Haley/Armstrong group having a poor/injured season isn't that bad a blow for the organization.

Jeff Johnson, who has served as Carolina's closer (and one of its few reliable relievers) has been bumped up to Akron, so he now meets the age/level requirements. Will Roberts, who has met the age/level requirements all season, has pitched much better in July (19.2 IP, 2.29 ERA). Chun Chen hasn't carried over his Akron success to Columbus, and neither has Roberto Perez.

At the rate Clint Frazier is going, he might merit a promotion to Lake County by the time August has rolled around, and that would make for a very nice trio of 18-year-old prospects in Eastlake (Paulino, Santander, Frazier). Naquin is still in Carolina, though you'd think he'd be promoted to Akron at the first opportunity. Joe Wendle is torching the Carolina League, and deserves an opportunity in Akron.

Too Old to Matter but Possible Contributors

Although minor-leaguers older than 25 are excluded from PTM, that doesn't mean older players can't help the Indians. Here are some of those players:
