Another week down, another series of reminders of why we love this site. There were breakdowns of how many batters a starter should retire at the start of the game to assure victory, proof that Jason Kipnis is the best second baseman in the league, "discussions" of Ubaldo and what makes a prospect matter...
And Soylent Green!

Yes! And Soylent Green, hands down the crown jewel of the site, if you throw out literally everything else that goes on here. I'm not sure you guys have heard the story of what it took for Ryan to land me to do this gig.
It isn’t widely known because he refuses to discuss it.

Then in respect to him, I won't discuss it either, except to say that he went well over slot to get me and LGT is definitely losing first round picks because of it.
I don’t think that last part is actually happening.

Okay, but if it had, I would think I'm worth it.

Yep, I’m in violent agreement with your position.

Thanks, Brad and Chuck! It's nice to feel wanted.
No, really?

Sheesh. Like much of what happened on here in the last couple of days, I feel like that was unnecessarily ill-tempered. Anyway, I don't know if this tandem of green comments is my favorite because what happened was so comical or the description was so aptly absurd (or because it involved my brother), but this was my green of the week.
The White Sox allowed the Mets to tie the game with two outs in the ninth on this play:
Did the second baseman have money on the Mets? That’s tremendous hustle to really foul up that play.

Ah, Brad. Lo these last 28 years you've been making me chuckle. Anywho, here's the rest of the stuff that happened to catch my eye this week.
Guys, he’s throwing a no-hitter. We have no impact on the outcome.
Also, more importantly, he’s throwing a freaking Maddux. THAT is the thing we should all be hush-hush about.

I’m going with saffron. I use it so rarely, it just doesn’t make sense to carry an 8-spice rack.

So you follow female athletes in hopes of seeing skin on their profile pics? My friend, that’s kind of sexist, and it’s also a tremendous failure to grasp the utility of google.
