MLB Draft 2013: Cleveland Indians sign 3rd Round pick RHP Dace Kime

The Indians have signed their third round pick.

Jim McIsaac

During last night's game, the Indians announced that they had signed Dace Kime, their third round pick (and first pitcher taken):

Baseball America's Jim Callis has the signing details:

This is under slot. The assigned value of the draft pick was $692,200, so the Indians saved $167,200 for use elsewhere.

Kime didn't really start until his junior season, but has the stuff to stick in a major-league rotation. Like fellow Defiance Alums Chad Billingsley and Jon Niese, Kime has a wipeout curve. He also has a low-mid 90s fastball, a cutter, and change. For those of you on Twitter, you can follow Kime @DaceK35.

No details on Matthews yet, so here's the latest draft pool chart taking just the Kime signing into account.
