Communication error in ninth proves costly in loss - Indians Baseball Insider

The main concerns from last night's game wasn't the way the Indians lost, but how Scott Kazmir pitched and the status of Nick Swisher's shoulder. Swisher looked like he aggravated the shoulder on a swing, and could be seen trying to stretch it out during the game. Kazmir may have just had a bad game, but Swisher's shoulder is a big deal.

Nick Swisher's left shoulder could put him on disabled list for Cleveland Indians | cleveland.com

Based on this, Swisher has been at much less than 100% for a while:

"I'm grinding guys," said Swisher. "I want to be in there every day regardless of what I got going on. Obviously, it's starting to physically show a little bit."

If you subscribe to the Cleveland is Cursed theory, then this is right up your alley:

"I've been battling this shoulder thing the whole year. It's super frustrating for me because I've never had something like this," he said. "Either way, we have to figure out what is going on and then we will go from there."

I know everyone's thinking it, so I'll say it: this is reminiscent of how Travis Hafner's shoulder troubles started. Between this and Zach McAllister's finger, it feels like 2008 all over again.

The Scrappers' season starts tomorrow, and Ted Kubiak is back at the helm. He's been in the organization for as long as I can remember, managing the old Canton-Akron Indians as well as just about every other affiliate in the system. He's still going strong in his early 70s.

Cleveland Indians sign top Draft pick Clint Frazier | indians.com: News

Frazier was in Cleveland this weekend to sign his contract, and last night he worked out with the team, threw out the first pitch, and appeared on the radio broadcast. It's hard for me to imagine how he could have handle that any better considering he just graduated from high school. Think back to when you were 18..how would have handled that kind of media attention? Be sure to click through to view Jason Giambi in a red wig (worn in reference to Frazier's red hair).
