Ronny Rodriguez continued his amazing turnaround by hitting .647/.684/1.059 over the past week. He's hitting an incredible .391/.412/.620 over the past month. He isn't walking, but the way he's making contact, it hasn't mattered much. Three of the four members of the Akron infield are at least two years below the average age in the Eastern League, and all of them are at the very least holding their own.

Elsewhere, Luigi Rodriguez has landed on the DL, which has put to a stop his nice run in Carolina. Tony Wolters has started to hit again after a slow start(undoubtedly due to the position change). Dorssys Paulino's overall line looks horrible, but he's been hitting better over the last month (.244/.266/.433).

In contrast to the new news on the offensive side, the news is mostly bad on the pitching side. Soto, Armstrong, and Brown continue lengthy stays on the DL, and Trey Haley has been awful in Akron. Salazar and Bauer are really the only bright spots among players in the minors, although House is been ok with Columbus.

Too Accomplished Update

Here are players who are in the minors or majors, meet the age/level requirements, but no longer have rookie status.

Cleveland (25 and younger)

Chisenhall is continuing to mash the ball, and he hasn't made an error for some time. If Nick Swisher has to go on the DL, he'll be the one called up, but at this point the Indians want to make sure that once he comes back up to Cleveland, he doesn't have to go back to Columbus again.

Prospects That Might Matter Update

I'll be revisiting the PTM list at the short-season All-Star Breaks, when there's enough of a 2013 sample to make any kind of judgment. Next week will be my PTM update, as the Carolina and Midwest League All-Star Breaks are early this week. Here's my finalists for inclusion:

• RHP Preston Guilmet (Age 25) - Excellent statistics, though he doesn't have the typical stuff that you look for in a back-end reliever.
• LHP Shawn Morimando (Age 20) - He's moved very quickly through the system for a high school pitcher thanks excellent movement on his pitches. He's struggled a bit with command, but you can't ignore the extremely low hit rates.
• 1B/DH Chun-Hsiu Chen (Age 24) - In his third year in Akron (and first full year as a first baseman), Chen hit the snot out of the ball, finally earning a promotion to Columbus. He's going to need to keep hitting the snot out of the ball to make it in the majors, because his best defensive position may be DH.
• OF Anthony Santander (Age 18) - Holding his own in his first year in a full-season league, though it's still a small sample. Unlike the players above, scouts love Santander's upside.

Of those who aren't eligible because of the age/level requirements:

• OF Tyler Naquin (Age 22) - living up to and perhaps surpassing high expectations in the Carolina League.
• RHP Cody Anderson (Age 22) - another lower-round pick that is out-performing high-round pitchers in the system.
  
• OF LeVon Washington (Age 21) - was in the midst of a breakout season before he landed on the DL again.
  
• OF Carlos Moncrief (Age 24) - he's a bit old for the league, but given that he's only been an outfielder for four seasons, that's completely understandable.
  

I'd appreciate any feedback or opinions in the comments sections. There's nobody that in my mind is a lock, so I'd like some other perspectives on these players.
