This will be a short one, but I'll have a lot more to talk about later tonight.
- The offense has been great, but what should really be getting you excited is the pitching of Scott Kazmir. Today he went six innings, striking out 10 along the way without issuing a single walk. And at the end of his outing, he was throwing in the mid-90s.
- Jason Giambi's at-bat at the end of the first inning I thought really set the stage for what happened later on. LGFT Bartolo Colon was getting frustrated, started to throw pitches in the middle of the plate, and that's when the Indians started to really tee off.
- It was in garbage time, but Cody Allen was really impressive when he came in to a put out a fire in the eighth inning. After a shaky start, he's been much better of late, and by the end of the season should be part of the late-inning crew that Terry Francona can go to.
- If the Tigers lose later this afternoon, the Indians will go into Detroit only down one game to the Tigers. That's amazing, especially when you consider that the Tigers entered their series with the Nationals having won nine out of ten games themselves.
