Pre-Game Reading:
Latest News
- Carlos Carrasco was struck by a line drive in night's Clippers game, and for while everyone feared the worse (broken bone or dislocation) but apparently he "just" suffered a bone bruise.
- PTM TJ House was promoted to Columbus to take Carrasco's spot on the roster, although apparently Carrasco isn't slated to miss too much time (though I would think he'll miss at least a couple starts).
- Not much major-league stuff to report, other than that it's raining in Kansas City, and there's a good chance of a delay or even a postponement. I hope that if tonight's game is postponed, it's made up this weekend rather than pushed back; if ever the Indians could manage a doubleheader, it's now, with 13 pitchers on the roster and lots of recent off days (scheduled or otherwise).
I did neglect to update the 25-man/40-roster after the Marson/Gomes move, so here's that:
I've replaced the ZiPS WAR projections with actual WAR (from B-Ref). It's still very early, but I figure this way you can see who on the roster is doing well and not so well.
Tonight's Lineups:
Cleveland | Kansas City |
CF Michael Brantley | LF Alex Gordon |
2B Jason Kipnis | SS Alcides Escobar |
SS Asdrubal Cabrera | DH Billy Butler |
RF Nick Swisher | 1B Eric Hosmer |
DH Jason Giambi | CF Lorenzo Cain |
C Carlos Santana | RF Jeff Francoeur |
1B Mark Reynolds | C Salvador Perez |
3B Lonnie Chisenhall | 3B Miguel Tejada |
CF Drew Stubbs | 2B Elliot Johnson |
In other words, the Good Lineup. Asdrubal is back, Santana is back, and you have Mark Reynolds hitting seventh.
