Fernando the Snowman was a minor-league arm
With an ERA of One-Two-Eight
And a strikeout rate of Twelve
Fernando the Snowman was a fairy-tale they say,
He didn't throw but the die-hards know
How he came to life one day.
There must have been some problems in
Brett Myers' arm they found
For when he went for the MRI
Ole Fernando came down.
Oh Fernando the Snowman
Was as good as he could be
And the die-hards say he could throw the ball
Several innings at a time.
He went to Houston with his glove
Right to Francona's desk
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler "STOP!"
For Fernando the Snowman
Had been DFAd
But he waved goodbye saying
"Don't you cry,
I'll be back to pitch someday!"
