After seeing the White Sox at home just a mere two series ago, we head to Comiskey Park for a three game match. The three game set is scheduled for Monday April 22 and Tuesday April 23 at 8:10 PM and a get-away day game at 2:10 PM on Wednesday April 24. After a day off the road trip continues in Kansas City.

The White Sox have gone 2-4 since we won our last series against them. Their hitting seems to be struggling as much as ours, but they have had better starting pitching to date. A couple of more injuries have affected them as well. Deunte Heath was sent down and center fielder Jordan Danks was recalled. With Dayan Viciedo just placed on the DL, Blake Tekotte has been called up to take his roster spot. They have had a rough go of it lately and have fallen a half game behind the Tribe in the standings.

With the recent spate of injuries, there has been some shuffling. With Beckham hurt, Keppinger has moved over to second, Gillaspie has taken his spot in the lineup playing third. With Viciedo also hurt, De Aza has shifted to left with Jordan Danks taking over in center. Adam Dunn has reverted back to his 2011 version so far this year, hitting .108 with three home runs and 26, yes 26, strikeouts. Tribe killer Ramirez is off to a good start and Rios has cooled off a bit from his torrid start, 188/278/345 since the beginning of the last Tribe series. The injuries have corrected the previous overbalance to the right side. Offseason acquisition Keppinger is really struggling so far as well.

Axelrod is a former 30th round pick of the Padres in 2007. He was released in May 2009 and the White Sox picked up that August. He made his first appearance for the Sox in 2011 and earned the #5 spot in the rotation this spring. Quintana threw a gem last time against the Indians. He only allowed one hit and struck out seven in seven shutout innings. And he beat the Blue Jays in his last start for his first victory of 2013. Sale was lit up in Jacobs field last time, allowing eight runs in 4.1 innings. He also took a loss in Toronto in his next outing, but was much more effective, allowing five baserunners in seven innings.

Reed has been very effective so far, locking down five saves. Lindstrom and Veal each had not allowed a run yet until yesterday. The long reliever seems to be Hector Santiago, who also has a 0.00 ERA. Righties Nate Jones and Jesse Crain are other options and old favorite Matt Thornton is still hanging around as well.
On the Shelf
- SP John Danks (left shoulder surgery) - 15-day DL, possible early May return
- RP Leyson Septimo (left shoulder strain) - 15-day DL, no timetable noted
- 2B Gordon Beckham (left hand fracture) - 15-day DL, possible late May return
- SS Angel Sanchez (left back strain) - 15-day DL, possible late April return
- LF Dayan Viciedo (left oblique strain) - 15-day DL, possible early May return
Since we last played the Sox, Beckham's injury was finally diagnosed properly and Sanchez and Viciedo have joined him on the DL.
