Continuing the synopsis of where each uniform number stands by number of player to have worn it, total number of seasons it was worn, and the total number of different times it was worn (counting shared numbers in a season). A brief description follows each table for each uniform number. All numbers listed are through the 2012 season only.

Today we cover uniforms 31 through 45. Also see, numbers 0 through 15, and numbers 16 through 30.

Uniform #31 has been worn by David Huff since 2011. If Huff does not survive his potential DFA at the end of spring training, this is another number that could potentially be available to be reissued this year. Jim Perry is the career leader with 7 seasons.

Uniform #32 will be worn by Matt Albers in 2013. It was worn by both Jairo Asencio and Esmil Rogers in 2012. Albers will be the forty-eight player to wear it. The career leader for this number is Al J Smith (not Al E Smith-Fuzzy) with 6 seasons.

Uniform #33 will be worn by Nick Swisher in 2013. It was worn last year by Johnny Damon. Swisher will be the fifty-first player to wear it. Mudcat Grant is the career leader with 7 seasons.

Uniform #34 will be worn by Zach McAllister again in 2013. This will be his second year wearing that jersey. The career leader for this number is Steve Hargan with 8 seasons.

Uniform #35 is currently assigned to NRI Jeremy Hermida. It was worn last year by Casey Kotchman. This number also has a strong possibility to be reissued this year. The career leader for this number is Wayne Kirby with 5 seasons.

Uniform #36 is not currently assigned to any player. It was worn last year by Thomas Neal. This number is an obvious choice to get reassigned if any of the guys at 50 or above want a lower number. The career leader for this number is Rick Waits with 9 seasons.

Uniform #37 will be worn by Cody Allen again in 2013. This will be his second year wearing that jersey. The career leader for this number is Jake Westbrook with 9 seasons.

Uniform #38 will be Joe Smith's fifth season wearing it. This will break his tie with Franklin Gutierrez, Phil Hennigan and Thurman Tucker and put him alone in second place. He needs two more seasons to catch career leader Eric Plunk.

Uniform #39 will be worn by Brett Myers in 2013. It was last worn in 2011 by Justin Germano. Myers will be the twenty-sixth player to wear it. Gary Bell is the career leader with 10 seasons.

Uniform #40 is currently assigned to Yan Gomes. It was last worn in 2010 by Jess Todd. If Gomes is called up this season, he would be the thirty-first player to wear it. The career leader for this number is Bartolo Colon with 6 seasons.

Uniform #41 will be Carlos Santana's fourth season wearing it. This will break his tie with Dick Tidrow and put him alone in third place. Charles Nagy leads this number with 13 seasons and Victor Martinez is in second with 6 seasons.

Uniform #42 was retired by major league baseball in honor of Jackie Robinson in 1997. It was last worn by Mike Jackson in 1999. I believe Mariano Rivera of the Yankees is the last active player to wear #42 and this will be his final season. Sonny Siebert is the Tribe career leader with 6 seasons.

Uniform #43 is still assigned to Josh Tomlin. He is expected to miss the season after surgery. If he recovers and pitches in 2013, it would be his fourth season wearing it. However, I expect it will be 2014 before he appears in another game. If he does, that would tie him with Scott Bailes in second place. The career leader for this number is Sid Monge with 5 seasons.

Uniform #44 was worn by both Dan Wheeler and Chris Seddon in 2012. The numbers will not increase for this uniform this year as pitching coach Mickey Callaway has assumed it for 2013. The career leader for this number is Neal Heaton with 5 seasons.

Uniform #45 was worn by Luke Carlin in 2012. The numbers will not increase for this uniform this year as bullpen coach Kevin Cash has assumed it for 2013. Paul Assenmacher is the career leader with 5 seasons.
